Nelly Lou's Second Chance

Nelly Lou's sweet face touched our hearts at A Pathway to Hope rescue. Found as a stray, 15+ years old, emaciated, teeth rotting out, ears swollen and infected - those words pierce your heart but its nothing like seeing her for the first time. She purrs and approaches you to nuzzle her head against you, but you don't know quite how to pet her without cringing because she is a walking skeleton, every bone protruding, even her skull as you pet her head. Nelly doesn't seem to notice as she rubs against your hand - she even approaches an over excited 4 year old and an 80 pound dog with only one thing in mind - getting some pets and love. Her teeth continue to crumble and fall out, she shakes her head from the discomfort of her ears, yet she begs for her nuzzles, purring the whole time. Nelly will need a dental and frequent medical care, but right now she needs TLC. Nelly's favorite food is Fancy Feast in gravy & AD prescription food. She likes soft beds, sweet voices & lots of love!

As we post updates on Nelly, we will also share many of Pathway's stories from the last few days, weeks and months so you can understand the work that we do. We take in the kitties without much chance, without much time, without a future - but with hope. And we make a promise to give them the best we can for a night, a few weeks or many years. We are asking for donations to help with Nelly's care and to help Nelly's friends - the kitties we come across with little hope that we fall in love with at first sight and want so desperately to save with your help.
