The Sharp Index was inspired by Dr. John Madsen, a devoted father of three young children and beloved physician who died by suicide on May 21, 2015.
His former wife, Janae Sharp, has become a powerful advocate for the needs of physicians in the era of value-based care and EHRs.
We are setting up a nonprofit in memory of John Madsen. The mission of the Sharp Index is to reduce physician suicide and burnout. The site can be seen at sharpindex.org.
