Urgent Help for Desperate Family!

Donation protected
Hi my name is Dua Khan.

I am trying to raise funds for a family of three (mother and two daughters) who are on the verge of becoming homeless.  They live a few doors down from me and I have been one of the daughter's friend for more than six years now. I got to know about their predicament when she shared her problems with me.

They have been victim of domestic violence (mother who was beaten up by her husband and did a case in the court against him) and need protection from forced marriage (daughters as their father was forcing them to get married to partners of his choice). But, as they resisted him, he threatened to kill them but they called the police and now are waiting for a sentence for him from the magistrates court.

They applied for asylum so that they would not have to go back to their home country as the husband/father's family have also threatened to kill them. As they wait for their asylum application to get processed. They are not allowed to work. Because, of this they are finding it very difficult to pay for bills, rent and also essential needs such as food.

They have asked for help from their landlord to give them some time off for paying rent but instead the landlord has increased the rent. They even went to the council to ask for help but they haven't been helpful. They have asked for help from asylum support. They had received a checklist from them to fill and send back to them showing that they are completely destitute, which they did back in May but unfortunately the asylum support representatives said they didn't receive any documents from them. Hence, they have to wait for another checklist. But, even this process will take 10 to 15 weeks as advised by the asylum support team. They said even if they do get the relevant documents, the accommodation they will provide will be separate for the mother and daughters. Meaning one will be dispersed to Scotland, one to Wales and one to another part of England i.e. Manchester. This would be very difficult for the mother and daughters as they cannot be separated from each other.

They have pretty much exhausted all their options. They even asked friends to help but no one has any money to give to them in order to help them with their rent arrears. I request you all to find it in your hearts to help these poor people. They are scared of becoming homeless. One of the daughters (my friend) even had a stroke because of this as she couldn't cope with the stress and is very much depressed.

They said they don't want to be a burden on the government or people, if they were allowed to take employment, they would have. But, circumstances don't allow them as they are forbidden from taking employment.

I affirm whatever I have said is true and nothing is false. They require the funds as soon as possible as they are not able to pay this month's rent nor bills. They don't even have money for food.

I have seen family's break apart and become homeless. I want to save this family. They are very hard working and want to become part of this community as it has given them hope and even though it is a long process, they are determined to work hard for it and be a productive part of this society.

They also feel very safe and secure in UK and they appreciate that it is a free society. They love the freedom UK provides to women and they want to stay here in order to prosper as their country does not provide the same protection to women that UK provides.

I will be very thankful as every penny counts and this small help will go long way for them to survive and fight for it to stay in this great country. This money will help them for couple of months till they wait for their asylum application,  however the wait for the asylum application to be approved is quite long maybe between 8 months to a year.

I have provided Gofundme with their bank details hence, as soon as the funds start to raise, the donations will automatically will go into their account, which they will then use to help pay bills, rent and used for essential needs such as for groceries.

It is very important that we help spread this campaign. If you cannot donate yourself then please I request to forward it to someone who can. Every little helps.

Regards.
