St. Paul - Blueprint for the Future

Donation protected
St. Paul Lutheran Church is a church of the ELCA. The church was established in 1956 in Pensacola, Florida. We are the only ELCA Church within a 50 mile radius of Pensacola. The people of God welcome all people as they come to celebrate their life with Christ.

The reason we need your help:
In 2006, a much larger church took out a loan for $1,635,000.00 to renovate and add St. Paul Lutheran Preschool Wing. The congregation went through some changes and after 9 years, had only paid down the debt by $205,000.00.
In 2016, with God's help, the leadership refinanced the loan and began a debt reduction plan. Since June 2016 - September 2018, In just 2 years the people of God have paid down the debt by $224,000.00 leaving a balance of $1,206,000.00.

Over the past 4 years this Spirit filled, Christ led congregation has accomplished other areas of mission and ministry that witness to the Saving Act of our Lord Jesus. Here's the difference we are making in the community of Pensacola:

Over the past 4 years, through the Holy Spirit, 30 people have been saved through Baptism
Over the past 4 years, through the Holy Spirit, 85 people have recommitted their lives, affirming their salvation in Jesus through public affirmation of faith
Over the past 4 years,  25 people have been called home to God and through the Holy Spirit, we've celebrated their faith and firm foundation in Christ and the Resurrection
Over the past 4 years, with God's help, we've established a Preschool Scholarship Fund that helps "at risk" children attend preschool.
Over the past 4 years, with God's help, we've established a Life Legacy Endowment Fund that gives all believers the ability to support the church and leave a lasting legacy of faithfulness.
Over the past 4 years, with God's help, we've established Mission relationships with Habitat for Humanity, Keeping Pensacola Beautiful, UWF Archaeology Department,  United Ministries, Waterfront Mission, Loaves and Fishes,  Manna Food Pantry, and several other organizations that help in times of emergency.
Over the past 4 years, with God's help, we've been able to support the FB Synod with mission donations, as well as ELCA Together in Mission, Luther Springs, Luther Rock, ELCA Southern Seminary, World Hunger, Lutheran Disaster Relief, and other special areas that have asked for gifts of support.

St. Paul has embraced the idea of Transformation as the people of God renew their commitment to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Giving not only of their time, but of their money. The mission of St. Paul in Pensacola can be greater without the massive debt that was accepted while the church was in a time of prosperity. One thing this congregation has learned over the past 4 years is that rule number one, God is sovereign. Rule number two is that everything changes except rule number one. Unlike us, God is always in control, even when we don't understand God's ways. God never changes and God's Word never changes. The culture will change, the people will change. but God's love is constant.

The Body of Christ at St. Paul has faith and trust in the Lord. Faith is both the foundation for salvation and the foundation for life. We are saved by faith and we are to live by faith (Rom. 1:17).
Living by faith means responding to every situation in a way that is consistent with the attributes of God and what God has promised in the Word.
The danger of many in the culture and in the church is making decisions based on what brings individual security. We, "The Followers of Jesus" must have the security and faith to not live our life in this manner, but to live a life where our security is established by doing what is right by and for God.

As leaders in Faith, we cannot challenge others to be people of faith if we ourselves are not living by faith, trusting God rather than our own ability.

"One person can make a difference". I hope and pray that you will be that one person.  Although the page shows only a small amount donated to decrease the debit, the actual total donated will be posted on our web page beginning August 9, 2018.

Thank you for making the difference to God's church in Pensacola, Florida.
