Mission: Our mission is to raise the funds to help with his medical expenses related to his needs. In particular, a prosthetic arm which would be controlled by his thoughts. Description: Robert ( Bobby) Brubaker is 29 years old . He is the father a beautiful little girl name Aubrey. Aubrey looks up to her father as her hero and would love to be able to hug her father one day again.
Bobby has been a wonderful big brother to me and uncle to my children. He is a very loving, fun, full of life person. If you knew him or crossed paths with him, I'm sure he put a smile on your face in some way or another.
On July 27, 2016 he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Route 28 in Pittsburgh, PA (http://triblive.com/mobile/10864304-96/accident-exit-pittsburgh ). He lost control on gravel and hit a guard rail, with the amazing grace of a passer by who witnessed the accident, she was able to get his name and notify his sister Ashley. He was life flighted from the scene. His injuries include a severed right arm at the shoulder, severe injury and laceration to his left arm, which the doctors have and will need to operate on again, to give him complete function of the nerves for complete or almost complete use of that arm. He sustained several fractures of his spine , which they are waiting for him to be stable to perform surgery, shattered pelvis and injuries to both legs which will require skin grafts . Currently we are being told that he will be paralyzed from the chest down. Each day brings new challenges and procedures , but we hope and pray that Bobby can overcome them. We understand his injuries are critical but he is under the care of the best medical team, surgeons, doctors and nurses. We know his life will be presented with many challenges but with the love , help and support from all his family and friends, we will help him live each day to the fullest.
