Help Mike and the boys
$5,295 of $3,000 goal
Maybe you yelled at someone being stupid in traffic, or laughed at fluffy kittens on Facebook. Maybe you did laundry and went to work and looked at Spring outside your window.
Maybe you did all of these things today and maybe you will do all of these things again tomorrow. But tomorrow Mike and his boys will wake to their first full day without Dawn.
So maybe today, you buy someone their cup of coffee while paying for your own, and you do it for Dawn.
Maybe when you go to lunch today, you think of Mike and the boys laughing over a meal that you helped provide. And you smile, too, knowing that Dawn appreciates the love you are showing the people who she so dearly loved.
Maybe you are kinder today, a little softer. Maybe you hold a door for someone and smile-because you know that today, someone kind is absent from the world and that we all need to pick up the slack.
Maybe by donating here, we show three human beings that they are not alone. Maybe we show them that when they are grieving we are there. That when they are happy, we are there. Maybe we show them that cancer has a legacy, but that their wife and mom has a bigger legacy.
Maybe with our kindness, if even for a few days or weeks, we make their world a little better.
I want to say thanks to Christine for conceiving this idea with the intention of nourishing this family in a time of profound grief. It makes me smile to think of the boys taking a night out for a Tigers game and pizza or simply a delivered meal on a weary night. If we can manage to lighten the load or ease burdened hearts then we have done ourselves and precious Dawn proud.
