Surgery for Nollie Dog

Donation protected
I am Nollie Dog.  I am a 4 year old American mutt.  My family rescued me from Lifeline Puppy Rescue when I was just a tiny little thing.

I have grown to be quite the mountain dog and love hiking and exploring with my family.  Last weekend we had an amazing hike above treeline, and then decided to go for a swim at Lake Dillon.

I went to jump of the dock, like I have done countless times before, but something went wrong.  My foot got caught on a boat cleat.  I was hanging upside down off the end of the dock, by a broken leg, into the lake.  It was terrifying.  My mom pulled me out of the water and rushed me to the emergency vet.

She gave me some drugs and took some xrays, but couldn't fix my leg; it was broken and dislocated in too many places.  Next we went to the emergency vet in Denver, he couldn't fix it either.  At 3:00a.m. Sunday my family took me back to see a surgeon in Denver.  On Monday she put all the bones back in place.  On Tuesday she sedated me for the third time and put a metal plate in my leg to fuse the bones back together.  On Wednesday I finally get to go home.

I have a long road to recovery.  So far my medical bills total $5000.  I will have follow up visits every one to two weeks in Denver for the next 12 weeks to remove stitches, change bandages, check my healing process, and take new x-rays.  I want my human parents to be able to focus on caring for me without having to worry about how they are going to pay for all of this.

We are asking for donations in the amount of $5-$25 each to help cover these unexpected medical bills.  We are optimistic that Nollie can make a full recovery and climb many more mountains and chase many more squirrels.  This little dog is a valued member of our family and we don't know what we'd do without her.  Anything other than getting her the medical attention she needs, is not an option.  Your love and support is greatly appreciated; every text, every comment online, everytime someone asks how she is doing is valued.

If we raise funds in excess of Nollie's vet bills we will pay it forward by donating the money to Summit County L.A.P.S., a local non-profit that will allocate the funds to another family in need of financial assistance for vet bills.
