Captain Connor Needs Your Help

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

We would like to share our story about Connor, aka Captain Connor, who is a 9 year old boy,  recently diagnosed (04/2016) with Osteosarcoma (a form of bone cancer).  Over the past 4 months, Connor has been a real-life superhero and has been receiving aggressive Chemotherapy at CCMC.

In support of Connor and his parents, Kelly and Wayne Albert,  we are hoping to raise money to help in this challenging time.

Currently, Connor is preparing for the next step of his fight against Cancer, which is his major surgery to remove the tumor in his leg.  Scheduled for the end of August or early September at Boston Children's Hospital, Connor's surgeons will use a JTS implant in his femur to allow for limb salvage, as well as perform a partial hip replacement, so that Connor can return to being a normal 9 year old boy.

As Connor continues this journey to beat Cancer, we hope  to help the family with the current and upcoming expenses of his treatment, especially Connor's complex surgery, as this procedure will be a much greater expense than a typical implant.

To date, while the family is covered by Wayne's health insurance and his job is protected by FMLA, the family has incurred significant monthly expenses including co-pays, deductibles and several hundreds of dollars in prescription drugs. Not to mention travel and expenses related to Connor's hospital visits to CCMC and Boston Children's Hospital.

As the family approaches the surgery, with the monthly costs mounting and Wayne running out ouf paid vacation time at work, the family will need help with the upcoming expenses of the surgery, rehab, and time away from work as the surgery only marks the near mid-way point for Connor's fight against Cancer. At this time, it is expected that  Connor will continue to undergo Chemo until the end of 2016.

Thank you for reading their story and considering a donation of any size,  as any and all donations will be used directly by the family to offset the costs associated with Connor's battle against Cancer. Please follow Connor's story on Facebook (Keeping up with Captain Connor). Everyones love, prayers and support is so greatly appreciated!!
