Enrique Ramirez is 36 years old.  The things that our most important to him in life are his family and work. He lives with his long time partner and children, ages 16, 8 and 3. He is the sole provider for his family and also help supports his parents in Mexico. In 8 years of work for Signature Surfaces he has never missed a day or been late. His work ethic is exemplarary as his commitment to excellence that is apparent in all aspects of his life. He is always kind, honest and doing his best. Enrique is someone who takes care of people, gives other people confidence and makes the world a better place. Right now he needs to be taken care of and he needs your help.

Enrique was diagnosed 6 months ago with Myasthenia Gravis.  This is a very rare, chronic autoimune neuromuscular disease that effects musle control in the body. This includes everything from vision, swallowing, breathing, walking and all other functions that we often take for granted. In most cases, this disease can be stablized through modern medicine, however there is no cure for it. In the weeks around and following Enriques diagnosis, he started experiencing mild symtoms that made it harder to work and unsafe to drive.  He rode the bus to work every morning at 5:00  and rested as much as possible so that he could continue to work and take care of his family while he waited to see more doctors.  Six weeks ago, Enrique started to experience severe sypmtoms including double vision, problems breathing and loss of control in his arm and leg functions. Two weeks later he was rushed to the ICU and has been at River Bend Hospital ever since.  He has undergone 13 plasma transfusion, and a surgery to remove a tumor in his thuymus gland. He is recovering from the surgery which involved breaking his sternum but the Myasthenia Gravis has continued to be extemily aggressive in his body making basic functions like breathing and walking very challenging. Last week he started a chemo therapy treatment. He was released Saturday morning but immediately relapsed, unable to breath or walk and was rushed back to the emergency room.

The future is very uncertain, as is Enriques needs. The money raised through this account will be used first to help pay for his families basic needs and medicine. After those needs are met and at a later date, medical bills and other cost that are related to having such sever illness will be addressed.

Please help Enrique and his family in this time of need by donating.

Thank you.
