What you're looking at is what used to be a bike rack that held my mountain bike. Everything but the gear wheel melted in the fire. One of the many things gone.
My name is Bruce Sanborn. My partner is Suzi Fox. We were living in the Sand Canyon area of Santa Clarita until two days ago. The two of us, along with her 14-year-old daughter were evacuated in the middle of the night last Friday by sheriff's deputies due to the Sand Fire. With just the clothes on our back we fled. And we foolishly had no insurance.
Just got word that one of our bedrooms may have been spared. We won’t know for sure until we can get back up the mountain. Waiting on authorities to give us the ok to access the roads. They're saying probably next month. Stay tuned! So grateful for everyone who has been reaching out to us with assistance, compassion and care. We feel your love!
We need a new place to live, furniture, clothing, dishes, pots, pans...everything.
