Hi there, my name is Emily and I'm from Red Deer, Alberta. I am planning on moving to Revelstoke, British Columbia in September to fulfill my skiing dream. I have been saving and arranging jobs and living situations for the past 6 months and could not be more excited. Working and living in a ski town for a season has been a bucket list thing I've wanted to do for years. Here I am now 5 weeks until moving date and have unfortunately hit a rather large bump in my journey. On July 20th, 2016 a close friend and I (whom is also moving to Revelstoke in September) were coming back from a day of kayaking at Sylvan Lake and were in a serious car accident. A deer hopped onto the road and in my small car I swerved at 120km/hour and lost control of the vehicle and hit the ditch rolling the car twice. Incredibly, we walked away with minor injuries (concussions, bruises, and some cuts from all the glass) we are lucky to walk away from this car accident alive and continue to count our blessings. Unfortunately, without collision insurance on my what was a 2007 Mazda 3 I have no reimbursement. My savings for the ski season is minimal and just enough to get me through the season. I now have no vehicle for moving or living in my new home. This has put a dent in my plans for moving my life to another province. My set goal is $5,000 to hopefully purchase a new vehicle for moving and living in Revelstoke. I appreciate donations of any quantity and throughly believe what goes around comes around.
