Hello Everyone
My name is Niki, I am 39 years old, about to marry my sweetheart: Sebastian.
Together we have 6 children and after acute physical, sexual, economic and parental neglect as a baby and continued abuse and abduction as a child, a previous marriage ending after extreme family violence; I found my happily ever after.
For 8 years I trained to work in the community services and got a wonderful job working to support the most disadvantaged in our community. My partner also works to support people living with Aquired Brain Injuries.
Since having our son 11 months ago, I have been a stay at home Mum and money has been tight.
Today I found out that I have breast cancer. We have been told that I need to have surgery as soon as possible and that to do this as soon as possible; the Private hospital fee and anaesthetist fee will be $10000. To be paid up front. Being put on the public health system waiting list is a risk due to time and the cancer spreading and there are many costs and tests that are either partially covered by Medicare or not at all. The bills and rent do not wait for cancer or tears. School lunches and runs need to be made. It is overwhelming. Sebastian has an incredible job with wonderful people who are being so supportive, but taking time off to process this and plan this treatment, costs and threatens our hard won security. We have no savings, and no way to pay for this at all. We have no family support and no friends that can help us this way. I am begging for help. I need you to be our family and friends. Please help us pay for this life saving surgery. We have no where else and no one else to turn to.
