Hurricane Harvey, USCG Families Fund

Greetings Family, friends and all,

Here are your CGEA Officers:

President: YN2 Crystal Walker
Vice President: YN3 Danielson-Kreiling
Treasurer: MU1 Laura Pirruccello

Let me introduce myself to those who may not know me.  I'm MU1 Joe D'Aleo and the Secretary for the Coast Guard Enlisted Assocation of Southern New England Branch (CGEA-SNB), at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.

(CGEA-SNB) has many missions; quite possibly the most important mission is to be prepared to support members and dependents in need.

Hurricane Harvey is the worst rainfall disaster in our nation’s history.

Our fellow Coasties are working tirelessly day in and day out executing search and rescue missions, providing health services to those who are injured and ensuring all Coast Guard assets (i.e. response boats, helicopters) are maintained in order to carry out missions 24/7.

As 2000+ Coasties move forward in their relief efforts through this catastrophic event, CGEA-SNB is dedicated to raising and providing funds for the enlisted men and women of our Coast Guard who are, like many Americans in Texas and Louisiana, incurring thousands of dollars in damage on their homes and other belongings that will need repair.

All funds from this campaign will be withdrawn into our CGEA bank account, and a check will be written to  Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, located at the United States Coast Guard Academy. These funds will go directly to Coast Guard Families in need, in the form of grants, courtesy of Coast Guard Mutual Assistance.

Here’s the good news!

The Chief Petty Officer’s Association (CPOA) of Southern New England has agreed to match our contributions up to $1,000!

When you make a donation of any size through September 15, you will be assisting greatly in this matching contribution that CPOA has generously agreed to.

Last year, with your help, we collected a total of $6,200.00 of relief funds for shipmates who were displaced by the flooding caused by Hurricane Matthew.

The Coast Guard Enlisted Association humbly thanks you in advance; your generous donations will not go unnoticed.
