Miskol Family Support Fund

Donation protected
I love my family very much and when I heard my Brother-in-Law, Luke, was diagnosed with cancer it broke my heart.  Luke and Jenn Miskol have been married for 18 years and have 3 wonderful children. Jenn is the sister I never had growing up and Luke is my protective big brother.

Luke is a mechanic by trade and has always worked very hard to support his family. Asking for help is not something that is easy for him to do, so I’m going to do it for him.

When he was diagnosed with Stage 3B Rectal Cancer on January 15 of this year it came as a shock to all of us.  He did 5 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation in February and March right after the diagnosis. Unfortunately, due to side effects of the treatment, Luke had to go on short-term disability from work in April. Following a lower anterior resection surgery with temporary ileostomy in May, there are still four more months of chemotherapy ahead of him this summer.  After this chemotherapy is complete there will be another surgery to reverse the ileostomy later this year.

Unfortunately short term disability is running out and his employer cannot guarantee him his employment once long-term disability kicks in.  Best case scenario Luke will be cancer free and able to go back to work in April 2017. But in the meantime finances are tight. Jenn is continuing to work full time, but she is completely out of Paid Time Off.  She continues to support Luke through his hospital stays and transportation back and forth for doctors’ visits. This is now requiring her to take lots of time off without pay.

The last thing Luke and Jenn want to do is ask for money. They have been trying to scrape by as best as they can up until now. But they are no longer able to make ends meet. They could use your support to help cover monthly bills during Luke’s time of treatment and recovery until he is able to go back to work.

Luke is doing as well as can be expected during his treatment. The family is staying positive about his recovery and is taking it one day at a time.  Anything you are able to give whether large or small would be a blessing and mean so much to the family.  If you are unable to support financially, please keep the Miskol Family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your time and support!
