Noah's Golf Cart

Donation protected
I am Noah's Mom.  Noah is a very special kiddo.  He was born with only half a heart and despite 3 open heart surgeries, autism, cognitive impairments, hearing loss, and mild cerebral palsy - he is a THRIVING 16 year old boy!  He brings nothing but Joy and Love to all  he meets!!

There are things Noah will never be able to do.  Driving is one of them.  And that's why I am here.  I had this great idea that while Noah may never be able to drive a car on the streets - there's no reason he cant learn to drive a golf cart!  After all, it's a 2 seater in the front, and the supervising parent has full and easy access to gas, brake, and steering!  It will bring him a great sense of independence, and self esteem - and mobility and FUN! (Once he has mastered the skills) and something he can do with his dogs!

How the plan went awry.  A family friend mentioned to me they would be selling their golf cart at the end of summer(which has EVERYTHING we need/want) and I jumped at the opportunity and it was happily promised we would have first crack at it. On more than one occasion. With witnesses. Noah was SO EXCITED about this! Not only was he getting a cart, but it was going to be extra special because it belonged to his BFF!

So we head out of town on a family vaca (the first in 3 years) and LITERALLY as soon as we were out of town the cart was SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE!  Breaking Noah's heart, and greatly disappointing me.

Now for the price I was gladly going to pay I at first thought, no big deal - I'll just find another one.  Agreed upon price was $1500 (which she said she would not charge me full price) but that's what I had saved up and set aside and totally happy to pay.

We can't come anywhere close to the cart we need/want for $1500!!!  So I reached out to our local Moms group to see if anyone knew anyone selling, etc. - nothing panned out with those leads.  So I started researching... and that's how I came to the above listed amount.  If we dont raise the above amount - we'll get whatever we can afford.  But here's the wish list from the original promised cart, for the agreed price:
4 seater electric cart, with batteries 1 year old, back seat flips down.  Windshild flips down.  Rear and side view mirrors, hard top roof.  Rain 'slicker' for the vehicle (I dont know what else to call it - weather guard?)  BFF had a baja-ing mishap and so we were going to need to replace the front lights - not a huge deal.  Since we have the opportunity, we would like to get one that's lifted with heavier duty tires, since we have a hilly yard; and also install seatbelts for safety.

All monies will go to the procurement of a cart for this sweet boy.  All of his friends around him who are turning 15 and 16 are all in drivers training or have drivers licenses, and this is yet one more thing he won't be able to do out in society - but having a golf cart will give him some independence and sense of self worth, which as a parent is unfortunately not something I can provide for him.

This would just be such a gift, and it would mean more to us than words can properly express.

It's okay if you can't personally help out - but please take a moment to share the heck out of this becuase we are bound to find someone who CAN!  Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!
