Sara Bodley-Orriss Medical Fund

My niece Sara Bodley-Orriss was admitted to Children's Hospital of Philadelpia (CHOP) again last night. As some of you may know Sara spent most of last year at CHOP, along with her mom, Courtney (my sister). For a year they battled Langerhans cell histiocytosis or LCH.  During that year they drove back and forth to CHOP for Sara to get all of her treatments and chemo andto have her spinal tumor monitored. Sara endured her chemo with grace and had to wear a brace for the good part of year. It was grueling for Sara, along with her mother, and siblings.However in March, Sara was told she had a clear bill of health and all breathed a sign of relief. Her mother was still paying the medical bills that were coming in but at that point she felt blessed that her daughter was better. Unfortunately, Sara started having back pain very recently, and last night she was admitted back to CHOP where they found another spinal tumor. The doctor said the reoccurence of LCH is only 10% or 1:10 patients. Sara is that 1:10 and now with this reoccurrence the chance of future reoccurence increases. Sara is expected to be a CHOP for the next 5 days to recieve her Chemo and then her treatment will entail going back to CHOP each month for a 5 day stay for the Chemo infusion. During each stay, my sister Courtney (who is a single mother) must stay with Sara, and will miss her income from working. The medical bills combined with loss wages are overwhelming to a family that is trying to just care of their sick child. Please help support my niece Sara and my sister Courtney, along with her family. It has been a devastating blow and any peace of mind would go along way with Sara's recovery.
