New Vision Community Church was started in October 2006 by Rev. Jerry Craig, Pastor and his wife Elder Karen Craig. His vision was to provide the community not only a place to worship, but also a place where you can find God’s love come alive to assist you in your daily walk. A church where we are dedicated to the belief that there is One God, One Faith and One Family in Christ Jesus.
The church started out in two small offices in Penn Hills on Lindberg Avenue. In 2008, we moved around the corner in the same building on Laketon Road, which enabled us to begin several new ministries: God’s Provision Ministry, which provides emergency food packages once a month at no cost. Since its inception, we have helped over 316 families; Kid’s Closet Ministry is a clothing exchange ministry, where families can receive quality clothing for free. We have provided clothing for over 459 families.
In September 2011, we moved to our current church home, which was a testament to God’s faithfulness to His people. With this move, we were able to expand our Sunday School to include classes for preschool, elementary, youth, young adults & adults. We also launched a grief support group called GriefShare for those who have lost a spouse, child, relative or friend.
Recently, we have been presented with an opportunity to purchase our building and we need your help with the down payment. We are believing God for the impossible.
Our church’s theme scripture can be found in Habakkuk 2:2-3 which says, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”
We continue to celebrate the blessings and favor of the Lord. And as always, we thank Him for the journey of faith and spiritual growth that He is taking us on. We will continue to look forward and expect the next great move God has in store for New Vision Community Church. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” All glory and honor to the most high God. Amen.
