Gospel & Gumbo (G&G) is a signature “Gospel Supper Club” event that brings people together from all walks of life in Unity, Harmony, Peace and Praise.
We are raising funds for the families of the victims who lost their lives in the wake of recent events of tension between law enforcement and people of color. Portions of proceeds from ticket sales and all donations raised from the floor will go directly to the families of victims of fallen officers as well as civilians who lost their lives.
Our featured meal “Gumbo” is symbolic of “Unity in our Community.” Just like a pot of good Gumbo where a variety of flavors blend well together, we too are a mix of people with different ideas, values and principles, yet we can come together in unity, harmony, peace and praise to appreciate our differences in honor, love and respect for one another. Urban City Youth (UCY) is the 501c3 organization that produces Gospel & Gumbo events www.urbancityyouth.org
UCY event planners donate their time to bring people together in unity, harmony and respect. These youth enjoy “learning to become brilliant at the basics” of event coordinating and presenting while learning key life values.
G&G renounces violence and anti-police sentiment. Our featured meal “Gumbo” is symbolic of our great American melting pot, where we break bread in fellowship to bridge the gap to increase love and respect between all groups in our communities.
Funds will be used to cover the overhead of the event and the coordination of the logistics of the show.
We would appreciate the funds by August 7th 2016, in order for the first event to be properly planned for Sunday August 22nd, 2016 – 1pm-7pm .
My name is Tommy Jones and I have been promoting Gospel & Gumbo primarily in Northern California with radio stations since 1999. G&G has been highly effective in erasing hostility between races, ethnic groups and community members. All performing talent will consist of kids, community members, parents and law enforcement. Mama Rue is one comedian who will have you laughing out of your seat with Christian comedy. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America will serve tables.
Please help us to "Praise the Lord and Pass the Gumbo" as we rebuild our communities with Love, Respect, Harmony and Trust. The bottom line is, All Lives Matter!
