Mike Jones' Medical Fund

We are asking for your help for a friend in need. Mike Jones is a father, husband, friend, co-worker and mentor. Mike and two of his children were in a serious car accident recently. Mike has already undergone several surgeries and is facing a few more, in addition to a long period of rehab. We would like to raise $75,000.00 in four weeks to help with medical costs during his long road to recovery. He and his family have enough challenges facing them in the coming months without having to worry about these expenses.
Mike has been a pioneer in Athletic Training at UAB for 16 years, including eight years overseeing the Athletic Training department. He was a member of the first scholarship football recruiting class at UAB in 1993 and is a two-time graduate of UAB, earning his undergraduate degree in secondary education and his master's degree in health education. After completing his master's degree, Mike worked in Athletic Training at the University of Cincinnati for two years before returning to his alma mater. Mike has touched many lives, from student-athletes to co-workers and countless others across the country. His compassion and care for others has been exceptional, and he has always gone above and beyond to assist others.
In addition to his work at UAB, Mike is a family man and a friend to many. He's the guy you call when you need something done but don't know where to start. He has a giant heart and doesn't shy away from hard work.
Mike and his family have been overwhelmed with the thoughts, prayers and concerns from everyone. They would like to thank the firemen, pilots, nurses, doctors, EMTs and the strangers who assisted on that devastating day and that have visited. Also, a big thank you to the team s that work around the clock to aid Mike and his daughter, Kerrigan, in their recovery.
