Transfer Tyler Zinn to OSU Hospital

Tyler Zinn age, 20 from Crooksville , Oh, was in an automobile accident on July 2, 2016, on his way to Virginia Beach with friends for vacation. On his way Tyler lost control of his vehicle causing a severe crash, striking a tree leading to entrapment of the vehicle. As a result, Jaws of Life had to cut him out of the vehicle which took approximately over an hour or so. Tyler was unconscious during this time and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury called subdural hematoma. Tyler had to be transported to the nearest trauma facility that being Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. His whole brain was severely injured during this accident and he is expected to be in intensive care and in need of a lot of follow-up and support from his family and friends for an indefinite period of time. All of the nerves from Tyler's brain and skull had been sheared and he has a substantial amount of hemorrhaging all throughout the brain. Since tyler doesn't live or is not a resident of Virginia he is not eligible for state benefits or help with state medical insurance to cover his hospital expenses. Additionally, it is 7 to 8 hours away from Ohio where Tyler's support system is. We are trying to have him transported to a local facility where his family and friends can be with him as we do not know what the prognosis is going to be for him. All transfer expenses have to be paid for out-of-pocket because of his insurance issue. Once he gets into Ohio he will be eligible for Ohio benefits because that is where he lives and he can get further treatment and follow-up care. We are asking for help for the transport to get Tyler home to be with his family and friends. He is not strong enough to be able to make the transport via ambulance nor will his medical team release him under road traveling conditions due to his severe health complications, leaving us with the only option being air flight from VCU hospital in Richmond, Virginia to OSU hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The cost for this transportation is roughly $8,700. This includes a medical team to travel with him with aided medical supplies to support him along the way. If any extra money is raised it will be applied toward tyler's additional special medical needs as he has a VERY long road ahead of him. Tyler loves you all.
