092419 Brett update: On Friday the team at U of M removed Brett’s left eye, leaving him with no vision. Brett is very strong and very positive through all of this. As with any medical issue there is a lot of bills for medical and educating. Thank you for continuing to support this family by prayer and donations. We met w the entire team yesterday... Brett's case has never been seen here at U of M....even more...NEVER in the WHOLE UNITED STATES...only 6 reported cases...EVER!! unbelievable!!! Unimaginable moment... Pseudomonas aeruginosa from transplant of old lungs got into his bloodstream and has gone into the eyes....leaving him permanently blind...despite all the efforts...his eye pressures are 40in right eye and 30in left eye..he is struggling responding to antibiotics.... They have said that they will very likely have to take both his eyes... this is all incomprehensible.... #BRETTSTRONG NEED HELP A LITTLE FROM HEAVEN 8/24/19 (From Kim, Brett’s Mom)

We do NOT get to DECIDE what happens to us...BUT....we do get to decide how we choose to face it!!! Brett is truly facing some very real challenges...life has taken a very BIG turn this week..He is 2 weeks out with his new lungs but side effects to transplant have happened and he has lost his vision in his left eye...a very rare infection went to his eyes...Beyond yet this unimaginable hurdle...Brett continues to SEE the blessings...He says....”I CAN BREATHE....its going to be okay....together we can figure this out....” I told him...TOGETHER we will help him through each and every step...He has SO MUCH love and support!! His courage .. strength and unwavering faith INSPIRE us ALL!!! Please lift him up in prayer as he faces these challenges... #BRETTSTRONG



8/20/19 I wanted to give an update on how Brett is doing. He had a slight setback, he has pneumonia in his right lung. But his will is strong and he is pushing through it.

For those of you that don’t know his dad Brian fell on Sunday and tore his ligament in his knee and will need surgery. He was the main income. Kim will be taking care of both of the Bowman men for a while.

This family needs prayers and support of this amazing community.

NEW LUNGS, NEW LIFE and with that, Brett’s new journey begins.  Brett Bowman has Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and, through God’s blessing and the generosity of a donor, he is the recent recipient of a life-saving double lung transplant.  

As his road to recovery begins so to will the arrival of his medical bills which are not fully covered by his insurance.  Brett will be unable to work and, his Mom and Dad will also be required to take time off in order to support Brett through this lengthy recovery process.  

Brett and his family need the support of their family, friends and community to make sure that he makes a complete and full recovery so that he can finally BREATHE!
