"Lift" Up Aaliyah

Aaliyah is a 12 year old beautiful, spunky girl who loves purple and pink and going swimming. She has a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor!!! Her mom is a single mom who gets works 2 jobs to provide for her and her other 2 children. Being a parent is hard, but being a parent of a special needs child is even harder. This mom is doing it on her own. She thankfully has her sister here who cares for Aaliyah while her mom works, but gets no personal care for Aaliyah.
Just to transport Aaliyah, Gisela (her mom) has to lift her into a large carseat from her chair, then disassemble her wheelchair, load it into the back of the van and do it all over again when she gets to her destination. (On a side note, Aaliyah weighs 85 pounds). Her back can't continue doing all of this forever. She lives in a small apartment that cannot accommodate any lifting equipment so she is lifting her the rest of the time. Ease of transportation is not something this family has.
The money we are raising is to provide a slip and click system to be put into their current van by a local company and the cost of a suitcase ramp to go up into the van ($1,500). We are raising the extra to cover the fee for using this site (hopefully a little more to bless this mama).
Let's "lift" Aaliyah up and at the same time lighten the burdens of this single mom.
(I'm a mom with a child with Cerebral Palsy and we've been blessed throughout our journey, so as I've gotten to know Gisela and heard this need, I knew I had to do something!)
