Julia's Liver Transplant Fund

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Julia Rohrer.  I am 15 years old and the youngest of 5 kids. My parents have been missionaries in Japan for 28 years, so we were all born and raised here. I was born with my left forearm missing, but that does not stop me from doing what I love. I love making crafts or doing anything that allows me to be creative! I like making jewelry that I sell to help raise money for poor children and orphans in the Philippines. I also recently created a device that I can put on my arm that has made it possible for me to play the guitar. However for the past year and a half I have not been able to live my life to the fullest. I have been in and out of the hospital many times in my life due to a rare liver condition that I was born with. For my whole life, my liver has been causing many problems. One of these problems is pulmonary hypertension, which we found out about at the end of 2014. When I came back from a volunteer trip to the Philippines I could not breathe. I got very cold and my fingers and toes turned purple due to lack of oxygen. I remember feeling like Anna from Frozen when she was slowly freezing.  I was rushed to the hospital where I stayed for 2 and a half months.   My body formed a shunt going from my intestines straight back to my heart, so my blood was not being cleaned by my liver. On September 9, 2015, I had a surgery where the doctors closed that shunt, but this did not solve my problem.  More shunts are now being made through my liver.  I have been on medication and oxygen for pulmonary hypertension for over a year, and now the pressure has come down enough to safely receive a liver transplant, which a conference of more than thirty doctors decided is the only option left for me if I want a chance to survive and have a normal life. However, my liver condition is so rare that it is not on the list of accepted reasons for a transplant, which means our Japanese National Health Insurance will not pay for the transplant. So we need to raise at least $100,000.00 for the transplant. After the transplant, I am looking forward to being able to go back to school, flying on an airplane, playing sports and many other things that I am not able to do now. If you would like to support me and my family, your donations and prayers for us would be very much appreciated.
