“FIGHT ETHAN FIGHT”
Dear family, friends, and community:
The fight against cancer continues. We are teaming up to help a DYNAMIC young man in his fight against cancer. Ethan White is currently a 13 year old, 7th grader at Bradley Middle School with a goal of being a “High School Student”. Ethan was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, an extremely aggressive form of cancer, in May of 2016. He has undergone multiple week-long sessions of chemotherapy at Methodist Children’s Hospital over the last 6 months. His chemotherapy treatment is currently on-going. Regardless of the obstacles and side-effects associated with this treatment, the OPTIMISM and CHARACTER displayed by this young man are to be recognized. He tackles every obstacle with a genuine smile and is determined to beat this illness. It is rare to see this young man without a SMILE or LAUGHING at life. Ethan’s positive outlook and attitude has gained much attention from hospital staff and his treating physician’s office so much so that he has been invited to return as a volunteer and speak to other children who are currently diagnosed. His personality is infectious and is an INSPIRATION for all.
In addition, Ethan is a role model for family, friends, and campus students/staff as well. Refusing to let this illness get in the way of his studies, Ethan goes above and beyond in trying to get his classwork done even on those not so great days. He goes so far as to use technology in order to participate and collaborate with classmates from home. He is truly the definition of a MODEL STUDENT.
Cancer treatment can be quite long and exhausting for families. The fight is a tough one emotionally, mentally, and financially. We are asking family, friends, colleagues, and surrounding communities, to come together and help the family of this well-deserving young man who is an inspiration for so many kids, and adults too.
