MAC & Company needs your support!
MAC & Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity based in Phoenix, AZ. MAC was founded from a shared passion for dance education and performance between Micaela Church and Li Pei Khoo in 2014. While being full time dance educators, Church and Khoo continue to be committed to the creative process and practice of dance as a performing art. Being both dancers and musicians, they have a particular interest in exploring the different processes that have been utilized in the integration between dance and music. With the common goal of presenting innovative work and nurturing professional growth in the field of dance and music, Church and Khoo hope to provide a platform for fellow dancers who share their passion.


Why MAC & Company needs your support
We are proud to have been invited to present our work at the "Dance in the Desert Festival" in Las Vegas and the "MixMatch Dance Festival" in Los Angeles, in addition to producing our own show "2.5" in Tempe, AZ on Sept. 3rd. Currently our dance company is self-funded with ticket sales being our only source of revenue, which to date does not cover the cost of productions, as we strive to keep costs low in order to make our work accessible to all. It is wonderful that we have been able to produce two major productions (1.0 & 2.0), two "Phoenix First Friday" showcases (Graffiti Twister & Bingo Jam), in addition to performing at several festivals and gigs in and out of Arizona. All of this has been accomplished in two years with the volunteer efforts of our dancers, resident composer Dr. Jeffrey Ouper, and guest musical artists. In order to allow MAC & Company to keep creating and presenting work, we are reaching out to our community for support.


How your donation will support MAC & Company
MAC & Company has three upcoming performances that will consume a large portion of our funds for the year. We went through an adjudication process in order to be invited to the "Dance in the Desert Festival" in Las Vegas during July 28-30th. This festival provides us with a valuable opportunity to not only present our work, but take master classes from established artists, and the ability for observation and connecting with other dance companies in the Southwest. This experience will allow us to continue to hone our craft and be able to create fresh works that we can present in our home city of Phoenix. Seven of our nine company members will be traveling to the event and by the time we add up the cost of a van rental, gas, overnight accommodations, food, and the performance fees, this festival will cost us just over $1,500. Last year, the company director was able to cover the majority of the costs affording the dancers the opportunity to attend this wonderful festival. Unfortunately, this year our funds are running out.


When your donations can make the most impact
We are hoping to raise $1,500 before we are due to leave for the "Dance in the Desert Festival" on July 28, 2016. Each dancer is contributing to the expenses for the festival this year, with most taking unpaid time-off work in order to be able to participate. Our dedicated dancers volunteer their time each week, year-round, to perform, create, and share their love of dance with our community. Being able to travel and experience work outside of our own is critical to our growth and one of the reasons why the dancers continue to be a part of our company. $100+ two tickets for our show "2.5" and special mention in program

Any donation amount received prior to August 1, 2016 will be recognized in the program for our upcoming show "2.5" occurring on September 3, 2016 at Tempe Center for the Arts.

Any donation amount will receive recognition on our website www.macdance.org through 2016.
