Rob, known to many of us as Robbie, was a friend to everyone. As a student at Strath Haven High School, he excelled at sports--basketball in particular--and although he was admired by all, he made time for everyone. He would always stop to share a hug or a joke. He always asked about our families.
On the weekend of July 4, as so many of us were celebrating, Robbie was tragically shot to death. We were all shocked and stunned that such an amazing person could be lost in such a senseless way. We're still trying to make sense of the immensity of this loss.
Rob was an English teacher in the Chester-Upland school district, where he inspired his students with his love for books and knowledge.
Rob's commitment to education and children, his passion for life, his sense of humor, his kindness, touched us all. We want to make sure we contribute meaningfully in his honor.
We've established this fund to help his family with funeral costs, and for his child. We are still figuring out exactly how the money will be distributed, but it will all go to benefit him and the causes that he was passionate about. Please give whatever amount you can, and pass this on, so that we can make a real difference in Rob's name.
