Helping nuns repair roof

Donation protected

Within the last year the living conditions in the Franciscan Convent in Fairview NJ have become deplorable. The one condition that is most concerning is the 25 year old roof of the Convent. Although it has repaired this roof is now in need to be replaced. The wear and tear of the snow and rain pooling on the (flat) roof have finally compromised its integrity. Recently the wired smoke alarm above Sisters bed sparked and went on fire. Frightened beyond belief she shut the main house breaker off on the fuse box. When it rains water now pours through many of the electrical outlets while buckets line the porch, second and third floor hallways. Many light fixtures have been disconnected for fear of another fire and subsequently electricians will not rewire any fixtures until the roof is replaced, thus the reason for this appeal. These two nuns help and assist more than three hundred individuals and families a month with food, clothing and several other areas of assistance- could you assist with a donation in any amount to get their roof repaired so they do not have to move out and these three hundred people do not lose their lifeline?

If you are visiting the site-thank you! If you can leave a $10 donation or more that would really help get up to our goal alot quicker.
