Upgrade gear for Frag Out

Last fall after discussion with a good friend of mine about hobbies or lack thereof, I went with him on a whim to a local Airsoft field with my trusty yet old camera. I didn't know much about Airsoft, how I'd be received, or even if I could take decent photos, but hey...why not.

After a timid start (and players quipping "what, is the paparazzi going to follow us around?") I have found something I truly enjoy and continually surprise myself with some of the shots I catch...again with my trusty old camera. Since October 3, 2015, I have taken photos at approx 32 games all over Saskatchewan.

As time goes on I notice more and more that my camera just can't keep up. The camera is at least 10 years old and there are far too many amazing moments being lost due to its age related limitations.

"Shooting" photos is a lot like Airsoft shooting, you want a good trigger response. I need a camera with a shutter and sensor that can faithfully capture what I see in any given moment, not the blurry remnants of the moments that follow.

It has been suggested to me more than once, that I should fundraise for a new camera. Something capable of capturing fast moving targets, correct depth of focus, low light scenarios and noise free.

This is my passion and something I do entirely of my own time and out of my pocket, however, a new camera is so far out of the budget that I need help.

My goal would be to have the new camera in time for the Operation Loyal Serpent in Saskatoon on July 17, 2016. I am also planning on capturing game play at Red Dawn in BC come August 2016.

The better my gear the better the keepsakes and memories I can provide for the players attending any event I make it to. Remember in real life there is no screenshot key unless FragOut is there!

Airsoft photography is joy, exercise, meeting new people and making new friends who encourage me to continue what I'm doing. I hope you will consider helping me reach my goal so I can capture great memories for the Sask Airsoft community rather than blurry messes marred by an aging camera that struggles with sensor speed and lighting.
