Peyton was rushed to Legacy Emanuel Randall Children's Hospital on June 28th after spending the night in Silverton Hospital Emergency Room. She had a sudden onset of RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, one which is very severe for a high risk child like Peyton.
Peyton was born 6.5 weeks prematurely on March 12, 2012 with a disease called Jansen's, or metaphyseal chondrodysplasia, a very rare form of dwarfism. She spent the first 6 weeks of her life in intensive care where doctors were unsure of what her quality of life would be. Happily, Peyton remained very healthy, aside from the normal colds and bugs that every kid gets. However, right before her 3rd birthday, she contracted pneumonia and RSV in one fell swoop and was hospitalized for 2.5 weeks. She ended up spending her birthday in quarantine, too sick to have a party outside of her hospital bed.
Fast forward a year and some months later. Peyton has once again contracted this nasty virus, only this time it has hit her twice as hard. Her parents recognized the symptoms after only a couple of days, but still the virus attacked her with great force. So much so that her little body couldn't fight hard enough and she needed to be placed on a ventilator, which is helping her breathe easier and fight the virus faster.
Insurance only covers so much, and being as this is the third extended stay in hospitals in Miss Peyton's four years, her parents are asking friends and loved ones for help. We recognize that God has His protective hand over her in the hospital, and that He has gigantic plans for her life. Her parents consider it a huge blessing that they have hundreds, if not thousands, of people praying and sending healing thoughts. Any financial gifts, no matter the amount, will help to ease the mounting medical costs. We love and cherish each one of you.
