Who am i: My name is Joshua Reyes, but most friends and family know me as 'Crispy'. Some even forget my real name. My nickname Crispy is pretty self explanatory but if you're still wondering why they call me that, here's why. Around the age of two, my family and I were visiting Monterrey Mexico on their first missionary, but unfortunately a tragic accident happened. As a little kid I was always very adventurous, often turning dangerous objects into my toys. That's what lead me to the misadventure that caused my accident. It happened during a very hot day while I was playing outside, and I decided to look for water. I grabbed a bottle that contained what I thought to be water so I doused myself in it. The liquid in the bottle was actually gas, and since I was playing near a water heater it caused an explosion. It caused 95% third degree burns all over my body, and I was hospitalized for a year and a half. Sadly, my mother sustained severe injuries while trying to save me. She was holding on fighting for her life making sure I was okay, but she had a severe infection that she wasn't able to fight off. I was told that her last wish was that I live instead of her, and I've always felt that she exchanged her life for mine. Since then I've had so many surgeries that I've lost count. Two major surgeries had a big impact on me because I had to lose both my legs due to infection and ligament tears. It's been a hard journey but I'm very grateful about everything I've had in my life.

What do I want to do:
One of the many things I wanted to do, is be a motivational speaker of some kind. I want to let people know there is still hope, even though it seems like there’s not at times. Due to certain circumstances, its been very difficult now a days because of me being mobile on a wheelchair only. It’s extremely difficult to get from place to place. It bothers me putting the stress on people to lift my wheelchair and put it in their car, removing it from place to place we go. I've been getting by for years this way, and I've always been understanding of my limited mobility. The problem is when I get into peoples car is that I start to strain my back which leads to more open wounds. Not only does it get in the way of my dreams and my goals but it also gets in the way of my daily life. My mother and father are not as young as the used to be and I don’t like putting the stress on them the older they get even though they would kindly do it I don’t want them to get injured doing something like that.

Today I’m humbly asking you for help with a project that I need and that’s a handicap vehicle for my situation, due to circumstances of handicap Vehicles being expensive I’m forced to ask for help. What I’m looking for to get is either a van or an SUV with a ramp.

I’m asking people for help because I think that people in my view are genuinely kind hearted and when they can see that someone is in need, genuinely in need that we come together and help each other, and as I said before unfortunately this is the only way that I can foresee me affording vehicle for myself
not only with this change my life with my goals my dreams and my career but it would also changed my daily life it would help me in ways that I can’t if everyday life.
