My US Tour for Leukemia

The Campaign:
When I was 13 my mother Sherald A. Bastow was diagnosed with leukemia. She battled with her illness for 18 years and on April 8th, 2015 she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. For 18 years my family and I looked on as she overcame and defied all odds. Her will to live and care for her 3 sons still to this day leaves me at a loss for words. Throughout the years my family relied on the help and support of family and friends to get through our daily routine. Without them our lives would have suffered more than I can imagine. We were blessed to have such an amazing support system and for that I am deeply thankful. This is where my campaign comes in. There are thousands of families who aren't as fortunate as mine, and they are left lacking basic items in their time of need. When we think of people who have been diagnosed with one of these life shattering illnesses we can easily overlook the effects that this may have on their spouse and children. Id like to setup a campaign to aid the families of these sick people. I am riding my bicycle across our country and as I pedal I want to raise money to donate to these families. I call it my US tour for Leukemia, and every dollar we raise goes straight to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This society is dedicated to not only finding cures to these diseases but also improving the quality of life of the effected families. When my ride ends I will be donating our raised amount in memory of my mother. Please help me reach my goal, but also know that whatever amount of money we raise, even if its below my goal will still be donated.
