Help Me Attend Demo Convention

I WANT TO FIGHT FOR BERNIE SANDERS' AGENDA AT THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION!
Hi, I'm Dave Gerard, a pledged delegate for Bernie Sanders from California's 19th Congressional District headed soon to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia coming up in a short time from July 24th to 28th. The Bernie Sanders campaign chose me to attend the convention from among hundreds of other applications because of my strong support among fellow progressives in my Congressional District and it is one of the greatest honors of my life!
The road to this point in my life hasn't been easy.
Disabled from colon cancer since 2012, for five months in 2013 I was on IV nutrition without the ability to eat anything or even drink a drop of water! I struggled to recover and during that time kept my dream alive of serving the hundreds of low-income kids of my community who the established political forces ignored.
Somehow I was able to get myself in good enough shape in 2014 to run and get elected to my local school board on a reform platform of building an academic powerhouse in our previously low rated public schools. The status quo forces and reactionaries in my community have attacked and disparaged me from day one, but I've fought back with strong parent and progressive grassroots support. My perseverance through the daily pain and discomfort of my disability paid off and in the June 2016 election I not only worked for Bernie Sanders but I also visited the homes of 2000 local voters and got a young education researcher elected to the school board so that we now have a progressive majority for the first time in our community's history. We will be fighting for the rights of ALL young people to a first class education. That's why I have endorsed Bernie Sanders and his call for free public education from Kindergarten through Public University for all of our young people all over the USA. I will say that throughout the June campaign I was very inspired by Bernie and went to see him speak twice, And the Sanders supporters recognized my passion and decided to send me to Philadelphia to the convention this month.
So, I am seeking small donations in order to offset the huge cost of attending the convention, which I estimate will be approximately $4,465. The hotel where we California delegates are staying has jacked up the daily rate to a ridiculous $600 per night! But I want to use this opportunity as well to help build relationships among California progressives to fight for better schools especially for our underserved groups throughout the state.
Right now, my budget can only handle about $700 of this cost as I am not working full time and I am working hard to build a small business around the limitations posed by my disabilities.
If you want to support my fight to advocate for Bernie's agenda in Philadelphia, please help me with a contribution. We need to build a government that represents us ordinary everyday Americans and the right of ALL KIDS to a quality education . Help me to get to Philly so I can do that for all of us!
