"Big" Mike Hawkins' Memorial

My name is Paul Hawkins.  My big brother Mike Hawkins passed in mid-August of this year (2016).  Mike was a life-long Eldon resident and and a Mighty Mustang.  He was a caring, generous, patient and passive man.  His friends adored him and many considered him extended family.  He fell ill and developed deep ulcers on his legs.  Mike was hospitalized for these infections.  The medical team found he was septic, his heart was in jeopardy and they discovered too late he had a rare form of cancer.  His time in the hospital was scary and painful but his concerns were for the people in his life and how this was affecting them.  He never had much money and never planned for his death.  His passing has not only created a  giant hole in our family but has also a few large bills that need to be settled.  His home is also in desperate need of repair to make it saleable in the future.  I live on a fixed income and have no way to accomplish these tasks without the kindness of friends, family and strangers alike.  I am not one to ask for help but I have found myself at a wall and need a leg up.  I can't even express how grateful and thankful I would be for any assistance.
