Galena's Breast Cancer Journey

On June 17th 2016, this beautiful young mother was heartbreakingly diagnosed with High-Grade Breast Cancer. While on a surf trip with her young 3 year old daughter Snow, she noticed a lump in her breast. After it not going away for some time she decided to come home early as she was a bit concerned. She never imagined that this would be the outcome.
Galena and her daughter are very loved locals of Nelson BC. Galena is a truly astonishing person who is a very vibrant, health conscious woman full of strength. She has a deep passion in her heart for adventures, living life to its fullest and caring so much for everything around her. This diagnosis has come as a total shock and she is beside herself with this news, but Galena is a strong soul who is surrounded by tremendous amounts of loving support. She says, "Every day is a mental mix of emotions to stay positive and she tries hard to not let the fear enter." With her strength in character, and the support around her we know she will beat this.
On Summer Solstice she had great news from her CT scan that it has not entered her other organs. The days leading up to these unknown results were intense and this has been a big relief. However there is inflammation showing in her lymph nodes. Further tests are being done. Chemotherapy has been advised and surgeries have been recommended.
She is a very wise woman, and is looking into every avenue for healing, but is feeling very overwhelmed. In only the first week the cost for therapies, vitamins & supplements, specialty foods, etc has escalated very rapidly. She is also hoping to enroll into a specialty clinic in the United States which is also very expensive.
Driven by the love for her daughter we know Galena will beat this, but it is a tough challenge ahead of her. This donation page has been set up to help her with so many costs associated with treatments, her daughter, not being able to work and most importantly to let her rest in body and mind so she can get through this and heal.
At this time, proceeding into healing and treatments any donation made will help Galena beat her cancer! She hates that word and calls it a health opportunity or Can-Cure! Please know that any help will make this young beautiful girl's life much more stress free, which is what she needs to make it through this!
No one knows why these things happen. It seems so unfair to a young mother with such a gorgeous little daughter. We love you Galena! You are one of the strongest and most inspiring women we know!
