Mariah's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Hi there,

This is Andria, Mariah's sister writing to you. My dear sweet sister has had her world turned upside down in a matter of a few weeks. She is a vibrant, kind hearted, brilliant young woman that just graduated high school and has many hopes and dreams for her life.

So her story: A couple months ago she began to have a very large lump develop on her neck that was not going away. She had doctor appointment after doctor appointment which told her nothing, but here is an antibiotic. Finally after some time she went in for a biopsy with results showing Hodgkin's Lymphoma! This is a type of cancer that attacks the lymphatic system. After a few other tests we found out that it is also stage 4 which means it has spread outside of the lymphatic system, and right now we know it has spread to her liver, spleen and heart to name a few.

This news came hard and fast, leaving all of us completely devastated, shocked, and asking questions like: Why? There has to be some kind of mistake? She is so young! She seems so healthy!?!
The oncologist then went on to tell us that this type of cancer is most often diagnosed in teenagers and young adults that are athletic and seem healthy and can give no warning signs.

After only a couple days Mariah was immediately accepted into St. Judes which is an amazing blessing! They have an extensive knowledge of this kind of cancer, the best doctors and give outstanding care! Mariah has started chemotherapy at their Tennessee facility and her treatment plan could take up to a year, depending on how her cancer reacts. She will be traveling back and forth from Oklahoma and Tennessee for as long as it takes.

As of right now, doctors are giving Mariah an optimistic prognosis which we are so grateful for and are putting full faith in her treatment plan. There is no price for our dear sweet Mariah and we will do whatever it takes to get her better!

We are not ones to ask for financial help but there have been many expenses with exams and procedures that have come with her diagnosis. While St. Judes has been a miracle and blessing with paying for her treatment, we are asking $8000 to help meet the insurance deductible, expenses related to traveling and care at home that will be needed. While we can't give much in return it would truly mean so much to Mariah and the whole family for any assistance you could offer! Even if its thought's and prayers! Any extra funds will be donated to St. Judes.

We deeply express our gratitude for your generosity, support and love at this time!
