Please Help Me Fight Osteomyelitis
Donation protected
On May 23rd, I was forced to go out of country to Mexico to seek surgery for 2 conditions that they didn't offer surgery for in Canada. Surgery also brought me a temporary relief from chronic infection from sinus and mandible jaw bone (osteomyelitis) infection that had been also spreading in salivary glands and surrounding tissues. The sinus and jaw bone infections were getting dismissed in BC and been left to fend for myself of them for far too long, even with debating Drs, many that saw it, and wouldn't deny the reports from CT scans, still had no treatment.
I was living life again and in virtual no illness symptoms and pain were left, until the infection load built back up again at the end of June, confusing me what was going on.
I had another recent CT scan explain that I have worsening of mandible osteomyelitis, now with more evidence of other surrounding body parts affected supporting more of jaw bone infection. No I'm having more and more professionals seeing the problem with the jaw bone, but it's still in me. I'm forced into getting IV antibiotic treatment, which no one should have to go in Canada. I'm in a disability income and having to pay approximately $200 a week, and also have the debt of previous surgery. The cost of seeing oral surgeons and paying for rides to appointments and paying for protein powder and supplements to help me body to fight infection and my weight loss, also takes a hit to the debt load.
Just when I thought I had my life back, and everything was solved, I'm back in the battle.
My plans to be able to go back to work in September are obviously not an option now, and loan help is no longer accessible.
Currently still waiting to try to get IV treatment covered but have to pay until I can achieve that, and waiting on help from oral surgeon and hopefully an ENT.
