Rubia is an amazingly sweet girl, who cannot walk correctly due to a horrible attack upon her. Her story is one that needs to be told.... As Rubia needs your help!
Rubia and her owner (Annie) have a very special bond together. They are a team, and there is just no way this team should ever be seperated!
While Rubia and Annie were laying quietly in their bed, they heard a strange sound and looked over. There, they saw an intruder standing by the bedroom door. Rubia did what she was suppose to do by barking and growling and letting the intruder know he was Not welcomed.
The man did not leave ( as most would have), but instead walked closer to them.
Rubia spung into action as a dog defending her owner should, and bit the intruder, hoping to drive him out of their home. ... But he did not leave and instead drew something out of his backside and came closer.
Just as Rubia was about to again bite the intruder, he took out a huge blade, and struck Rubia with it . The blade pierced Rubia's throat, through her mouth she was stabbed, and Rubia fell over.
The intruder then left Rubia , alone , with Annie crying hysterically by her side.... bleeding out.
Annie frantically called the police and when they came Rubia was rushed to a local veterinarian.
Her loss of blood was great, and it was unknown if she would survive. After two long days, it was clear that Rubia would be fine but would also be left with some minor nerve damage.
A couple of months have now passed, and Rubia's "minor" nerve damage has become worse. As the owner feared might happen, is beginning..... Rubia now "knuckles over" on her back paws from this nerve damage caused by the stabbing.
Rubia needs your assistance. Since all this has happened, Rubias owner, Annie, has refused to go back to their apartment to stay, and they together, are now homeless.
Rubia is staying with us until her mom can get back on her feet, and find a small place for the two of them.... a safe place.
While her owner is seeking the appropriate help she needs, ( with Job and housing) we will see to it that Rubia gets hers.....
She will be seeing a specialist for this injury later this week, for now we continue to do what our vet suggests, Soaking, water therapy etc.....
She will be in need of the obvious vet care, but also therapy for her muscles, medication, as well as a chair; if only till she heals.
Rubia is a sweet and gentle girl, lovable and playful and in need of a body that runs!! She is a survivor as well as being a savior to her friend.
Please help, if only even a bit.. it will All count...
just so we can see her walk correctly again...
