Send Mr. Ryan to Rome!

5/4 UPDATE! Thanks to the outpouring of support from our wonderful community, we reached our fundraising goal of $4500 to send Mr. Ryan to Rome in 24 hours! Realizing that others may still want to contribute in honoring Mr. Ryan, we will now accept any donations to help endow the cash prize we have created this year at PMHS in Mr. Ryan's honor.

5/2 Dear parents of PMHS current/former Latin students and current/former students:

Larry Ryan is retiring this year after teaching Latin at PMHS for 29 years. Though our hearts are heavy at his departure, we want to show Mr. Ryan how much we appreciate the passion and dedication of his teaching over all these years.

We have learned that he has never been to Rome - the Eternal City, site of the many wonderful stories he has shared with his students year in and year out. 

So we are raising funds to make this dream a reality for one of the most dedicated and cherished teachers in our community. We will present him with the funds at the end of this school year in June.

We have also established a small prize in his honor which will go to a senior who best characterizes Mr. Ryan's qualities as a teacher, Latin scholar and citizen.
