Baseball League Fees

Our adult senior men's baseball league team, the Roseburg Brewer's has been plagued with bad luck this season. To play in the Eugene's Men's Senior Baseball League, our entry fee is $3180. When we start the season we divide this amount by the number of player's on our team and each player pays their portion. Unfortunately, we had 3 players make a commitment to play and bailed out without paying their portion. We tried to find replacements to make up the fee difference but again we had several back out. This is our 6th season. Every year we have come up short, and I have made up the difference. But after 6 years and losing a lot of money, I am worn out. Although $400 does not seem like a lot for a team of adult men to come up with, it does not include the extra costs of playing a game most of us loved as kids and still love today. The EMSBL gives us a shot to feel like we are young again. I was out for about a month with my own health issues and I am finishing up our season on the weak side (@ 47 my body does not recover as fast). If you love baseball and you have a few extra dollars to spare please consider donating to our team. We are a group of great guys; some are teachers , college students, mill workers, and equipment operators, but none of us are rich. We live in a small town who gets tapped out fast when it comes to donation requests. And on top of that companies tend to donate to children and school causes first versus older men playing a sport.
