A little help from my friends

Hi, My name is Sharon:

     Most of us have that one friend that was always special to us and could make you laugh at the drop of a hat. The friend that you feel you have known almost forever. My friend and I have known each other since we were babies. We grew up together and eventually, Yvette became my sister in law. She married my brother and they had two beautiful daughters together. Needless to say, sometimes marriages do not last as was the case here but the friendship has always been there.  Yvette and her daughter's Karla and Melissa are now facing an ordeal that no family would want to be subjected to.

     Yvette has been ill for quite some time now. She has experienced numerous hospital stays and more than her share of Emergency visits. The girls are always there for their Mom no matter what.  The girls took their mom to meet the transplant team in London ON as their Mom is in need of a Liver transplant and it has just come to my attention that she also needs a Kidney transplant as well. The failing Liver has caused the Kidneys to fail as well. This much-needed surgery is all the doctors can do now. It breaks my heart that it has come to this for Yvette and her family. Yvette is doing everything she can to keep her overall health stable until a Liver and Kidney comes available and she can have her transplant.

       Melissa has been keeping me posted on the overall health of her Mom and because her Mom contracted an infection has ended up in the ICU at Sudbury hospital.  Her overall health is improving with each day that passes and the Drs. in London are keeping in touch with her Drs. in Sudbury.

     Yvette lives in Sudbury ON. and is very stressed over the distance she has to go to have the surgery in London ON. Her daughters have five young children between them and are missing work to take care of their Mom. Yvette worries about her daughters and their families and is so stressed over the financial burden that she has become.  Melissa has given up her job to be with her Mom and Karla is on leave from her job as both girls want to be close to their Mom at this time.  So the financial burden is now affecting the family as a whole. When Yvette does have the surgery she will have to stay in the hospital for two weeks and when released will have to live near the hospital as a precaution. We love her and would do anything to help her get through all of this. If you knew Yvette you would love her too. She always had the best sense of humor. Always there if someone needed help. Always there for her family and friends. She is her Mom all over again.

     I just want to help Yvette and her girls get through this somehow and I am praying for the best outcome. Yvette needs to concentrate on staying healthy and not worry about anything but herself. She needs to get better.

So I am asking friends, family, strangers to please give and help this wonderful woman have another chance at life. She really does deserve all the help we can give her. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
