After a massive 7.5 SR earthquake and tsunami that struck Palu on September 28th, 2018, there were more than 2,000 people died and almost 75,000 people displaced.
As part of Clear Horizon's Putting it Forward monthly initiative, we have decided to select an organisation called Indonesia untuk Kemanusiaan (IKa) or Indonesia for Humanity. For more information about IKa and how they will use your donation, please see the attached presentation.
Currently the Palu Disaster Response is moving from emergency phase to rehabilitation phase so less funding is being received to help them with the relief efforts.
The organisation's strengths rely on: local fund raising, local volunteers, local knowledge and networks.
IKa's main programs are:
1. Pundi Perempuan: program to support elimination of violence against women
2. Pundi Budaya: program to support pluralism and countering violence extremism
3. Pundi Insani: program to support human right defenders
4. Pundi Hijau: program to support food sovereignty
The funds provided will be used to:
• To assist community through sustainable livelihood program by building temporary shelters and running income generation activities.
• To empower community by maximising village potentials including how to use village fund (Dana Desa) effectively.
