Felicia and Shane - Harvey Support

$4,275 of $10,000 goal

In April 2016, Shane  and I suffered a huge set back when we received 8 inches of water during the Tax day flood in April 2016.

In February 2017, a tree branch fell on our home requiring a new roof... which was being put on when Hurricane Harvey decided to impact the Gulf Coast.

Now, again, August 2018, Hurricane Harvey with his rain, has taken much more. He has taken our ENTIRE home with all that was salvaged from the first flood and our new kitchen. It left us with about 6 feet of water in the home . Cypress Creek flooding due to the continuous rain.  We are down stream... so all of the rain from Waller, Hockley, and Cypress drains down behind our home.  We were just within a few weeks from being done and being able to move back in after over a year... but not any more.  Now with Hurricane Harvey flooding us... we  DO NOT receive the final check for our renovations from the flood #1 . This is such devestating news on top of this disaster.

Thank goodness we have insurance but the deductibles are extremely high. 10,000 for dwelling and 5,000 for replacing contents. We know so may of you have asked what you can do to help and this would be a REALL Y BIG way. The money is going to be used to get the deductible paid and any other expenses we need to rebuild our life/home.

We also want to thank ALL of you for the support, help, words of encourage, and most of all love during the past year and now again during this trying time. We are so fortunate to have you all in our lives.

We will keep all the funds in a savings account in Cy-Fair Credit Union until the Liberty Mutual (the insurance company) needs the deductible.

Today is #givingtuesday!! I haven’t posted much lately because we are still in limbo. We’ve heard nothing from insurance, FEMA or anyone. We are both feeling so displaced after now 86 WEEKS and it’s bevomjng to take a huge toll on us. We’re still trying to keep faith but it’s very discouraging! I went by the house the other day and just cried in the drive way. What was once out home now looks like a Ghost-Town!
With the holidays coming up, please keep us in your prayers and if you have anything that would help get us through... it would be much appreciated but not expected!! We love all of those who have helped in all facets... you are truly a blessing to us. Our GoFundMe is still open to continue to donate so we can try to get our lives put back together once we are able to get to that next step!
Much love, Felicia and Shane
Thank you Aunt Sandy Widboom for capturing this photo for us.

82 weeks and still holding on... we are still in need of funds. We know it’s a tough time for everyone... so every little bit helps. You can send money through our GoFundMe or if other ways work best for you... we’re open to suggestions! We are rebuilding both mentally and physically but it’s all in God’s hands!!!

Wow... 80 weeks away from the house from flood number 1 on tax day! It seems like just yesterday that we were trying to salvage things and today we sit with our hands over our faces trying to decide what’s the next best move. It’s been a roller coaster and I’m still at a loss for words most days!! We are still in need of help to now start fresh with the basic necessities but still getting that deductible is a challenge. If you would like to help out, our GoFundMe page is still open!!
I found my bacon maker in the yard.

Hi everyone— it’s been a crazy last 2 weeks dealing with insurance (FEMA), regular insurance, mortgage companies, etc and it so emotionally draining. Shane is still sifting through all of his tools to try and take photos of every single one of them, cleaning up debris and still trying to keep a level head. Me, lol, between working extremely late hours, trying to itemize the photos, find receipts (not happening), bring down with my back (extra medical costs)... it’s been interesting. It’s been 1 month and 3 days and it’s all setting in and so depressing. I think now the real tears have been flowing cause I remembering all the irreplaceable things from family members that have gone onto the good Lords home.
We’re still in need of trying to get money to meet the deductibles since FEMA has decided we’ve got enough support, (which is upsetting)— so any help is appreciated and accepted. If you could pass it on to any family or friends is welcomed.
All my stuff— just thrown to the curb!
