TEAM CHRISTINA Second Cancer Fight

$5,685 of $6,000 goal

Raised by 76 people in 20 months
Christina's fight began May 2nd 2016 when she was diagnosed with cancer, A.L.L., Acute Lymphomoblastic Lymphoma/ Leukemia. The doctors also discovered a large mass in her chest. She has been in the hospital since then undergoing several aggressive rounds of chemo to fight the cancer. After Christina is released from the hospital in late June she will continue to receive chemo treatments every 20 days for the next 6-8 months, as well as see her oncologist twice a week for the duration of her treatment. She will also undergo chemo Lumber Punctures (spinals) with each chemo. If that isn't enough she will eventually need a stem cell transplant sometime down the road. Needless to say, we have realized very quickly the cost of her care, chemo treatments, weekly visits and loss of work, how quickly and costly it will be for us. Well after all the challenges 2016 gave her and after a successful Stem Cell Transplant in October of 2016 which put her into Remission ...her cancer returned again in  August of 2017. Christina has  now received 3 rounds of chemo, spent another month in the hospital and is receiving another Stem Cell Transplant on November 17th. We are hopeful this will be the transplant that puts her into remission and she doesn't have to spend another day getting chemo. We need her to be finally on the road to recovery! We have been humbled by this and now need the support of others, that we didn't need just a short time ago. We greatful and thankful for your support. Sincerely, Chris Reiber

Hi everyone, today and tomorrow are very important and critical days for Christina Cavallo Reiber. Today she will be receiving 3 doses of chemo and one dose of radiation to knock out her immune system once again to accept her new cells. Tomorrow Friday the 29th she be undergoing another Stem Cell Transplant from her previous donor to hopefully put her into Remission this time. This will be the last transplant they can give her due to her bodies ability to accept it and the time needed between transplants, which is generally a year.

This will be hard on her system yet again because she is still weak because of the last transplant which was just a month ago. She will be in the hospital at least until mid January or until her White blood counts are at an acceptable number for her to be safe to leave the hospital.

Please continue to pray for Christina's well being and our families, as this hasn't gotten any easier and it's been a much longer fight than last year's fight! 2018 needs to be our year for healing and recovery!

Hi everyone, so it's day 14 post transplant and as I'm sure you'll all heard Christina had a setback. She ended up in the ICU a week ago with some very serious side effects that brought the family together. Well I'm happy to share that she has improved enough that she is being released from ICU today and being moved back down to the cancer floor.

The strength that Christina has shown to not only pass every test they threw at her but also request that she get up and start walking the day after they had a breathing
tube in her for 5 days. Once she's on the cancer floor she will continue the care needed to get her counts back up and keep
her in remission so she can be released some time this month.

Needless to say this has added to an already very tough journey for her. And will make our journey much longer than we both anticipated. Please continue to pray for Christina's well being and our families as this hasn't gotten any easier just because we've been through it before. It's actually been a much harder fight for her and she needs everyone's.

If you can help us get through this journey please do so, by donating to her, as the costs of this fight keep adding up daily.

Please share this post with everyone you know. Thank you!

Hi everyone, so today is day 6 post transplant. The way the days work now is the doctors will count forward to 100 days and on day 100 she will receive her bone marrow biopsy to determine her "remission ". So this weekend has been challenging for Christina Cavallo Reiber. She has had mouth sores, which was expected, headaches and now some very bad GI troubles. She's endured many tests these past 2 days, ct scans, ultrasounds, and blood tests, all which were negative! Yay! She unfortunately is now experiencing some "delirium " which she had last year, which is causing her confusion, hallucinations, vivid dreams. She has been pretty much sleeping for the past two days due to all her blood counts bottomed out!

Needless to say it's been a tough couple days for her. The doctors expect by next week some of these side effects should ease up because we need her healthy and back in our home for Christmas.

Please continue to pray for Christina's well being and our families as this hasn't gotten any easier just because we've been through it before. Sometimes ignorance is bliss!

If you can help by donating, please do you, know us and you know how this money will help us..we still have a long journey ahead!

Thank you so much!

Hi everyone,
So Christina has had a very challenging day. She woke up this morning with her face, eyes, and neck swollen quite a bit. Just as a precaution the doctor gave her oxygen but she was not complaining of shortness of breath. Thank goodness! The doctors believed she may have a blood clot in her neck, due to either an infection or from her picc line. They quickly scheduled an Xray, MRI, and they wanted to remove her picc line. She then received a new picc line in her groin. Which should only stay in a couple weeks but not a comfortable spot to be in. We are still awaiting the results of the testing they did today. Her swelling has gone down slightly and now she is resting. I will update everyone when we get the results from the testing.

I know you have and continue to pray for Christina's well being. She needs a break from this 18 month struggle and to finally see remission. We need that prayer answered!

I will never stop doing everything I can to help my wife get through this and that includes asking for your help and donations...we do need it! Thank you!!

We are praying for your strength and perseverence, Chris. I know the stem cell replacement is tough but I have two friends who needed it and it helped. I believe, Chris, you can lick this. May God bless you and your family.
