Alessandra's Cancer Treatment
Having lost my own mother to Colorectal Cancer when I was a young girl, I certainly do not want both her kids to go through what I went through having lost my mom; this is why I decided to start this fund in order to help the family and to make sure that money will not stand in the way of Alessandra's successful recovery.
As if this was not enough bad news, her husband of 25 years lost his job because the company's restructuring due to financial difficulties. Although the regular household expenses have been taken care of with a little savings, the medical expenses have become a financial burden which is hard to keep up with. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, many different doctor's bills, medications and all future treatments are becoming a tidal wave, not because they don't have insurance, they do indeed have insurance, but the copayment, deductible, and not covered expenses have been mounting to a staggering state of affairs.
Today I am sitting here at the hospital waiting for Alessandra to finish having a long and painful surgery to remove both tumors as well as all cancerous tissue. I am hoping that you can give a generous donation to this cause and that you partner with me in making sure those two kids and a loving husband keep their mom and wife alive.
I will be forever indebted to each and every one of you. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!!
She is still in great spirits, always positive and teaching the rest of us to be strong and to love life.
I am infinitely grateful for all your help to our friend Alessandra. I know she is also very grateful as well.
She still needs 2 more sessions of intravenous chemo, so please don't forget to keep her and her family in your prayers. If you have a chance to share this among everyone you know, maybe we can get to the amount we set our sights on and with an extra push we can get there.
Thank you all again and may G-d bless each and every one of you.
Alessandra has been a trooper throughout this entire ordeal. I find it quite remarkable that when anyone calls her, she is always there ready to reassure them, instead of the other way around.
Since the Thanksgiving season is upon us, I wanted to say "thank you" to each and everyone of you, and to ask if you find it in your heart to donate anything to help Alessandra with all her medical expenses. You can also post this update on your Facebook pages and maybe one or two of your friends may be so inclined to help her during this time. I will forever be in your debt.
Hope you have a warm, happy, healthy and loving Thanksgiving!
Hello! Round one of 6 chemotherapies is done. It was a tough couple of weeks but I have been able to rest this past week to get ready for round 2 on the 15th. I appreciate all your prayers, good thoughts and donations. I'm slowly but surely beating this thing! S^2C
Hello everybody, June 8 marked one year since I started on radiation and chemotherapy to get rid of the tumors. I am happy to report that I have declared myself in remission after having the ileostomy reversed and a metastasis on the liver removed on May the 4th be with you day. It has been a very long and tough year and I couldn't have gotten through it without the help of family and friends! I cannot thank you all enough for your support. Blessings, Alessandra
Hello everyone!, I am overwhelmed by all the support I have been receiving from family and friends. Although there have been some bumps in the road (both health wise and with the insurance companies) that have delayed my treatment a bit, I am in the final stretch of chemotherapy and doing well. I cannot thank you enough for helping me and my family get through this year.
Hi! I'm recuperating well from surgery and soon will go into what I call phase 3 (of 4) of my treatment which will be 12 weeks of chemo therapy. Words cannot express how thankful I am to all of you for allowing me to focus my attention on healing instead of having to worry about our financial situation. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!
