GFK9s need vest & protective gear

11th Hour Canine Rescue NY along with the Glens Falls Collaborative's Making Glens Falls More Pet Friendly committee are fundraising for the Glens Falls Police Departments 2 newest members, K9's Phlash and Neeko.  

K9 Phlash comes to Glens Falls PD from Warren County Sheriff's Department, where both he and his partner, Officer Christopher Perelli, worked in the jail division in drug detection.

K9 Neeko was donated to the Glens Falls PD from Saratoga County Sheriff's Department when his partner was promoted.  Officer Jarred Smith is now Neeko's partner.

These trained dogs are a great aid in searching for missing persons, investigations, drug searches and as good will representatives to the community. Many times these animals and their handlers take the lead in dangerous situations. They are devoted to their partners and protect them as well. As a community we welcome these fine animals that protect and assist us. We need to protect them as well.

The funds collected will go towards the purchase of bullet and stab proof vests, a leg and arm bite sleeve, a cage for the patrol car and other items needed by the K9 Unit.  This campaign will help raise the money needed and alleviate the cost to the tax payers of our City.

The K9 unit will be up and running by July so we have about a month to collect the funds we will need to order the equipment to protect these officers.
