Caring for the Chins
Carol’s cancer had been in remission for nearly six years, but in early April, a CT/PET scan revealed that her cancer had recurred, this time in a single lymph node in her chest. Carol will begin an intense round of proton radiation therapy in mid-June. In July, her team of doctors will decide what the next stage of treatment will entail.
Carol's family and friends have organized this fundraiser to help support the Chin family during this difficult season. Donations will go directly to the Chins to cover their out-of-pocket medical insurance expenses, including an experimental testing procedure that insurance will not cover. Funds will also allow Peter to take additional time off from work to take care of Carol and their five children.
Please consider how you can support the Chin family as they fight cancer yet again.

*Please note, that donations are not tax deductible, and donations given through GoFundMe are subject to a 7.9% processing fee. If you would like to give to the Chins directly via check instead, please contact the campaign organizer, Tricia Mason, by clicking on her name on the right side of this GoFundMe page.
As of today, we have hit our initial goal of $20,000. If you still feel led to give, please do! We know that in addition to out-of-pocket medical expenses, their life will be very expensive during Carol's treatment, and we want to give them all the flexibility possible.
Every donation will go directly to the Chins to cover their costs in this difficult season.
Thank you for loving the Chins!
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to the fundraiser, we've been able to raise over $17K in one week - thank you!
When the fundraiser started, we were hopeful that we could raise enough money to help us cover the costs of the chemosensitivity testing, as well as our health insurance deductible. But we knew all along there was no way we could raise enough to cover proton therapy. Proton therapy costs $5000 per session, and with 15 sessions altogether, we knew we needed some other form of provision to cover those costs.
But in Matthew 6:8, it says that God knows what we need even before we ask him. And we found out that is totally true because without us even asking them, the proton center has agreed to cover ALL the costs of Carol's proton treatments. Yup. All of them.
Without us even asking. Exactly like Matthew 6:8.
We're truly overwhelmed with thanksgiving, to all of you, to the proton center for their generosity, and to God for his generous and faithful provision! God is good, even in the valley.
We have hit 50% of the $20,000 goal to help Peter and Carol cover their initial medical costs.
Thank you for showing your love and support of this amazing family. Please spread the word and keep the momentum building as we push towards our goal!
