Three years ago, adaptive (former) wheelchair athlete Andy was afraid to even try CrossFit.
Two years ago, Andy was afraid to leave his one-on-one coaching sessions and attend a regular CrossFit class.
One year ago, Andy was afraid that CrossFit competitions would never be within reach.
In 2016, Andy entered the CrossFit Open and the WheelWOD Open, followed by the WheelWOD qualifier. Even though he wasn't one of the top athletes in the pool, he learned that being afraid of the results is no excuse to try.
Now Andy is headed to the UG Series Beach WOD to compete in the first ever WheelWOD championship with 9 other wheelchair athletes. As excited as he is to go, the journey means nothing to him unless he can bring his beloved wife and 3 children to witness this special event for wheelchair athletes.
That's why Andy needs your help to travel with his wife and 3 children from Northern Virginia, USA to Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada for the event from July 8th to July 10th. With your support, Andy can attend this historic event with his family to compete, raise awareness, and bolster the adaptive athlete community across the globe.
