Miles Patrick Mech went to be with Jesus on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 4th, 2015, at the tender age of 9 months. Miles became very sick on Saturday evening with a spike in temperature and vomiting and was taken to the ER.
While we do not fully understand what happened as of yet, we lost Miles the next night. Doctors believe he may have had an intestinal blockage which burst, causing damage and infection his little body could not fight off.
An autopsy will provide some answers for the family in coming days, but the emotional and financial support system for this young family will need to be strong for many months to come.
As friends of the family, we have started this GoFundMe page to help Miles' parents - Ryan & Megan - deal with the financial burden of this tragic life event which will result in large medical bills and lost wages while they mourn and heal away from work. Miles was a fighter from the very beginning, starting life in the NICU for the first few weeks of his life, which had already put a financial pinch on the family.
Miles was a blessing to everyone he came in contact with and always had a way of smiling and laughing with everyone. He was the life of every event the family attended and his giggles made everyone smile. Both Ryan and Megan give selflessly of themselves to others and Megan works in the medical field where she has always been there for countless families. It is our hope that we, as a community, can now be there for them.
All funds will go directly to the family to assist with the medical bills and to allow the family not to rush back to work while taking the time to heal and mourn from this terrible loss.
