What is the Concept?
The name of the concept the inventor has chosen is Snap Light, although he is open to the possibility of a name change and reserves final approval regarding the official name. Branding is important, of course, but the concept is the official foundation for the invention and any forthcoming applications of the invention.
The concept Mr. Sahl has created is a cover for a 9-volt battery with a tiny LED bulb, which can be flipped on to provide light when it is needed. When the battery dies, the cover can be clipped to a fresh battery, and it will continue to provide illumination. A further, more detailed explanation of the functionality of this invention will be elaborated upon in the following segment.
How Does it Work?
Mr. Sahl has been designing and documenting this concept for quite some time. He has a working prototype as well as several “mock-up” drawings of the product, which have provided the inventor with a sense of how the concept will appear once brought into production. This is beneficial for making any necessary modifications and revisions for improvements; thus promoting a more satisfactory and overall accommodating product.
As currently designed in the prototype, technical drawings and 3-D models, the invention has unique features not presently available in the marketplace. Although it has not yet been mass- produced and is still in the developmental stages, an explanation of possible functionality is as follows:
Snap Light will be very handy to carry in one’s pocket or purse, to provide light when searching for an item in a dark, when fitting a key into a lock, when reading a map, and a million other times when additional light makes it easier to complete a task. It is basically a plastic cover that fits over the top of a standard 9-volt battery, which contains an LED bulb and a power switch. On the underside of the cover, there are positive and negative connectors, which fit securely over the negative and positive poles on the top of the battery. Once it is in place, the user can activate the light by pressing down on the soft button on the top. Grippers on each end will help to prevent this tiny flashlight from slipping while using, and the clip on one side can be fitted over the edge of a pocket or a lapel to keep it handy until it is needed. When the battery’s power is dissipated, the cover can be removed and replaced on a fresh battery, and it will continue providing many hours of illumination until that battery dies as well. Future versions may include a model with two light bulbs, which will provide greater illumination but would deplete the battery faster.
