Help me Continue my Education

My name is Bree, and I am originally from the United States. In 2015/2016, I was granted the opportunity of a lifetime to study abroad with the CBYX Scholarship for a full year in Germany. I loved my life in Germany so much, and it opened my eyes to so many things, that after my graduation from Marshall High School in 2017, I decided to move back and become an Au Pair while preparing to go to school the following year.

During my years at Marshall High School, I was a part of the National Honor's Society, I received the Award for Academics, the Certificate of Honor in Geometry, the Award for Excellence, as well as my varsity letter for academics. Throughout high school, I made Honor Roll every quarter and graduated with high honors. I have received two awards from my former youth exchange organization, one being a Certificate of Recognition, and the other being a Certificate of Cross-Cultural Competence for my volunteer work in YFU Virtual, which provides students otherwise unable to take part in a "traditional" exchange the opportunity to have this experience in an online setting.

I am and always have been very passionate about languages and language learning, which is one of the main reasons why I moved to Germany in the first place. After getting past some minor bumps in the road with German, I fell in love with the language, especially the Bavarian dialect they spoke where I attended high school during my exchange year. Over my years of living in Germany, I have been able to accomplish fluency in the language at a near-native level. Aside from German, I also speak Spanish relatively well, and I've started most recently learning Hungarian, Russian, and Esperanto.

When deciding on where to go to school, I knew that I wanted to do something with languages and ideally become an interpreter and translator one day, which is why I decided to enroll in the Würzburger Dolmetscherschule in Würzburg, Bavaria. I was so excited to be able to start my apprenticeship at the school, doing something I loved, learning languages. My apprenticeship is for foreign language correspondence, and over the month I've been there, all I can say is I've fallen completely in love with the school, as well as the city and my classmates and teachers. My classmates and teachers make me feel at home even when I'm thousands of miles away.

It wasn't until recently after bouts of misinformation on many parts that I started having issues getting my visa. Since my arrival at the end of August, I have been in Germany with the Schengen Visa, which allows me to stay for 90 days, which means my time is slowly drawing to a close. I was told at the foreigner's office, that my only option would be to show a blocked account with the sum of 8.640 Euros (for a full year) or 4.320 Euros (for 6 months) in order to get my visa since the other standard options that would be available wouldn't work for me. I had received a scholarship, but it was a one-time scholarship, not a monthly scholarship, which I used to pay my school tuition for this year. So, therefore, that option was out, and with me unable to work with the Schengen Visa, it is extremely difficult for me to get the money in such a short amount of time, with the last legal day I can stay in Germany being the 27th of November. Other options I explored such as BAföG (German FAFSA) and Bildungskredit (like a student loan) were also quickly eliminated as options, as I am not a German national, nor are my parents, and I haven't lived here for 3 years uninterrupted.

I cannot bear the thought of having to return back to the USA and end my apprenticeship early. I'm doing what I love and I can't imagine myself anywhere else. So please, anything you can donate is a major help to me and I would be so appreciative of your helping me stay here in Germany to complete my apprenticeship. The money I receive will be put into the blocked account for my visa, and with that, I will start working as soon as possible. Thank you once again!
